Artists’ Open House This Weekend

We Three (2018)

This week I’m finalising the preparations for Dulwich Festival’s Artists’ Open House. I’m hosted by The Belham Primary School, in their amazing new location at 165 Bellenden Road, SE15. The building is a fascinating blend of original Victorian features and 21st Century architecture and I’ll be joined by other local artists as well as work from the wonderful Belham children.

I’ll be showing and selling a small, curated number of framed original pieces, including We Three, shown above, a watercolour and ink piece created especially for the Dulwich Festival, as well as framed and unframed screen prints and giclée art prints.

Dulwich Festival Artists’ Open House, 165 Bellenden Road, SE15 4DG
Saturday 12th May 11am – 5pm & Sunday 13th May 11am – 4pm
Saturday 19th May  & Sunday 20th May 11am – 4pm

Floral Inspiration on a Sunday

Yesterday I welcomed another lovely group of creative souls to my floral wonderland for a relaxing afternoon of drawing, painting, admiring flowers and foliage, sipping cool drinks and, most importantly, eating cake!

Although the sun didn’t shine for us, we brought colour and vibrancy to a dull April afternoon, looking closely at the colouring of coral peonies (first of the season), examining the curves of buttery yellow freesias and distilling the structure of a range of foliage to its bare lines.

Thank you once again to everyone who came and brightened up an otherwise grey day. For details of future workshops, or to join my mailing list, please get in touch.

‘Just wanted to quickly say how much me and my Mum and sister enjoyed your workshop yesterday. It was brilliantly organised, and so generous too, with all the different materials  – not to mention the cakes! It was the perfect birthday treat, and I will be back for more! Can’t think of a nicer way to spend a Sunday afternoon.’

Draw and Tour at Southwark Cathedral

Just a quick post as I’m off to bed…just wanted to share how lovely it was to spend the evening with artists exploring fineliner techniques in the stunning setting of Southwark Cathedral! The complex architecture provided a stimulating and challenging focus for the sketching and was combined with historical gems from our highly informative guide, Liz. Thank you to all who came. Looking forward to the next one (Wednesday 20th June), which will focus on the cathedral’s monuments. Further details to follow here and will be available soon on Southwark Cathedral’s website.

Artists’ Open House 2018

It’s almost here! this week I’ve been busy getting everything ready for Artists’ Open House as part of the Dulwich Festival. Hosted by The Belham Primary School, in their amazing new space on Bellenden Road, I shall be showing framed and unframed originals and prints inspired by classic tales and nature. Today I’m working on the handpainted gold gouache detailing of My Bed [below] on this Goldilocks-inspired print. My Moby Dickinspired original piece is also in progress. For further details about the event and the pieces I shall be exhibiting, please contact me.

Southwark Cathedral Draw and Tour

I’m so excited about the first of a series of Draw and Tour sessions at the magnificent Southwark Cathedral in the heart of London.

On Wednesday 25th April at 7pm, the Cathedral becomes a tranquil haven of artistic endeavour. Beginning with my short fineliner workshop, attendees then have a unique opportunity to tour the Cathedral, learning about the architectural history and points of interest along the way. At the end, there is time for a longer study or to share work and discuss techniques with me.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, please do find out more or book at:
